Manchester Airport Terminal Three evacuated due to a suspicious bag – UPDATE
The Manchester Airport is being evacuated due to a potential issue with a bag in Terminal Three.
UPDATE: Manchester Airport confirmed that the routine baggage screening process in Terminal 3 identified a bag which appeared to contain a suspicious item.
“Greater Manchester Police was immediately informed and all passengers were safely evacuated from the terminal while further investigations took place. Officers have now determined the bag poses no threat and we are beginning the process of allowing colleagues and passengers back into the terminal”, a statement reads.

UPDATE: “Following the incident this morning, only Terminal Three is affected. Passengers using Terminals One and Two should travel as normal. Passengers departing from Terminal Three should go to Terminal One for more information. Passengers arriving into Terminal Three will be brought in through Terminal One at present” Manchester Airport announced in a passenger update.
The airport on Wednesday said ‘a precautionary evacuation is taking place while further investigations take place.’

Passengers were asked to remain outside the terminal.

On Tuesday, the Terminal 3 at Heathrow Airport was evacuated after reports of fire alarms but there was no fire.
