Makeup artist reveals beauty secrets behind the Wonder Woman on-screen look
If you ever dreamed of looking like an amazon, Gal Godot’s makeup artist, Sarah Brock, revealed how you can obtain the Wonder Woman look. To obtain the seemingly all natural look you actually only need a few key products, assured the makeup artist.
The on-screen makeup for Wonder Woman took around 45 to 60 minutes all day despite the appearance of completely bare skin.
“I used small amounts of several different products, which I applied with my fingers and then blended well so that they didn’t ‘sit’ on the skin – they ‘became’ part of her skin,” she told People Magazine. “I apply cream bronzers and blush after foundation and then I’d add fine powder formulas at the end of the makeup if I wanted more definition for filming.”
To create the Amazon glow, Brock used the Smashbox L.A. Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color in Venice Beach Bronze, along with Stila’s Convertable Color Dual Lip & Cheek Cream in Lillium.
The makeup artists also shared a pretty ingenious lip hack that she used on Gal Gadot. Before actually applying a lip colour, she used a balm, then she applied a lipstick over.
On her lips, Brock explains: “I would first apply the Chanel Rouge COCO Baume to keep Gal’s lips hydrated, and the Perricone MD No Lipstick Lipstick – it is primarily a lip treatment that mimics the natural, rosy colour of your lips.”
To obtain a flawless complexion many women pile layers of thick foundation in order to cover all the imperfections. However, Brock explains that this technique makes the makeup look heavy and cakey.
The makeup artist revealed how to obtain the Amazon glow by choosing cream formulas which will keep their freshness more.
“I apply a light foundation base and then go in with concealers and correctors after to add more coverage where needed.”
“I try to use as many cream-based products as possible on the skin (blush, contour and highlighter), which keeps the skin looking dewy and younger. And use as little powder as possible, as it tends to make the skin look flat and takes away the natural glow.”
