UK authorities say they have “hands around” some Manchester attack network
Britain’s head of counter-terrorism policing said on Friday the authorities had made several significant arrests connected with the Manchester suicide bomb attack which killed 22 people, and had their “hands around” some of the key people.
“They’re very significant, these arrests. We’re very happy we’ve got our hands around some of the key players that we are concerned about but as I say there is still a little bit more to do,” Mark Rowley told broadcasters.
British police have made significant arrests and have uncovered important items as they investigate a suicide bomb attack which killed 22 at a music concert in Manchester, the head of the city’s police said.
British police said on Thursday that a bomb disposal unit was helping with the search of a property in Withington, south Manchester, in connection with a suicide bombing earlier in the week which killed 22 people.
The search follows the arrest of a person in Withington on Wednesday night.
Police had raided a house in Wigan, northern England, which was now being searched in connection with the suicide bombing in Manchester on Monday.
Police arrested a man in Wigan, a town 17 miles to the west of Manchester city centre, on Wednesday.
