“Knifeman” arrested outside Buckingham Palace, moments before Queen passed by
A knifeman was arrested outside Buckingham Palace, moments before the Queen passed by in a car just a few yards away from the scene, according to the Metropolitan police.
The patrolling officers detained and arrested a man after being found in possession of a knife in The Mall at around 10.40 am.

The man was dressed in a blue hoodie and a khaki coat.
The Metropolitan Police told Mirror Online that the incident was “not believed to be terrorism-related”.
The Queen was travelling to St Paul’s Cathedral, where she and the Duke of Edinburgh are attending a service to mark the 100th anniversary of the Order of the British Empire.
This morning, a sign was erected outside Buckingham Palace saying the changing of the guard had been cancelled. The arrest came less than 48 hours after a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device at Manchester Arena.
