Primary school is closed after a woman was stabbed nearby
A woman has been hospitalised after being stabbed near a primary school in Temple Road. The police said the woman was attacked as she walked back to her car, according to a Metro report.
Following the incident, Devonshire Park Primary School was closed. Unconfirmed reports say the victim is a teacher at the school and that the attacker was a parent. The police confirmed it was a domestic incident.
Merseyside Police confirmed that a 61-year-old Wirral man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The man is in custody and will be questioned by detectives.

“Officers were called to Devonshire Park Primary school in Temple Road, Tranmere, at 8.20am following reports a woman had been assaulted as she walked back to her car.
“The woman has been taken to hospital with injuries to her hand, consistent with a knife being used. No-one else has been injured. The woman’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
“It is believed that the incident may have been domestic related and the offender is known to the victim.”
Cops are carrying out house-to-house searches and checking CCTV to find the attacker.
