“Currently, for a variety of reasons, we are not ready to vote for this bill”

Mitch McConnell is looking down the long end of a gurney this evening as the Trump proposed Healthcare option is taken off the life support system. Sensators Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) all pulled the care out of this under lock and key fiasco called Trumpcare, where the wealthy get protection and the poor get gurneys.

In a combined press release the four Senators stated, “Currently, for a variety of reasons, we are not ready to vote for this bill, but we are open to negotiation and obtaining more information before it is brought to the floor,” the statement said.”There are provisions in this draft that represent an improvement to our current healthcare system but it does not appear this draft as written will accomplish the most important promise that we made to Americans: to repeal Obamacare and lower their healthcare costs.”

Cruz, in a separate statement, emphasized the need to rein in Medicaid spending and lower premiums. He said he was encouraged by parts of the bill, but that more work needed to be done.

Johnson told reporters earlier in the day “I don’t think there’s enough, probably, in there to bring down those premiums, which I think is a problem with both the House and maybe the Senate bill now,” he said.

America wins this round in the bill as written. This current bill increases costs, and does nothing for the low and middle class while giving huge breaks to the most wealthy in America. The same as the House Bill, the Senate Bill is going to produce major reductions in aid to poor and lower/middle income families and individuals. the The CBO’s score on the House version estimated 23 million fewer people would have insurance over the next decade. Cuts to Medicaid is at 834 billion for the House bill while Senators are demanding much higher cuts. This will seriously impoverish even more individuals by needing healthcare, but not being able to afford it. By the year 2026, the estimated cuts for Federal funded Medicaid will be 150 billion less than today.

Americans would see states not explicitly eliminating guaranteed coverage, but would have an allowance where states can seek waivers from several consumer protections. This would cause millions to go without the needed coverage. States would be allowed to scale back conditions that insurers must cover. Because of the way the law is structured, that could allow insurers to reimpose annual and lifetime limits on some coverage. States would also be able to allow insurers to charge sick people more, potentially making coverage unaffordable for some. Insurers would be able to charge older consumers five times more than younger consumers!!! While women, elderly and pre-existing patients suffer The House version of the bill is estimated to cut the federal deficit by a total of $118.7 billion by 2026,where the initial estimate was supposed to be near $337 billion. Over 10 years if $1.00 per American was paid for healthcare, it would equal 10 times 330 Million people. 3.3 Billion dollars. Where is the true savings, when costs are so high and so many will be at risk? The Trump Healthcare plan is more the Trump Killing Zone.

Americans, while needing healthcare, need a sensible, proven method of insurance, not some made up time bomb waiting to wipe out a good portion of Americans due to not being able to get basic healthcare. To pay 100.00 annually to keep a plan that helps those elderly, and pre-existing patients is well worth the American investment, while paying for a wall on the Southern border to stop a portion of the number of illegal immigrants into America is not a well thought out plan.
