“Prince Philip and I would like to pay tribute to the bravery of firefighters and other emergency services officers who put their own lives at risk to save others,” the Queen said in Her statement.

The monarch was also touched by the way in which the community reacted in the face of the tragedy. The generosity showed to the victims and the volunteers that reacted promptly in order to help those in need.

“It is also heartening to see the incredible generosity of community volunteers rallying to help those affected by this terrible event,” the message concluded.

The Queen’s message comes after other members of the Royal Family have announced that they will be making donations in order to help the victims of the Grenfell tragedy.
