A £10 diamond bought at a junk sale sells for more than half a million pounds
A £10 diamond bought at a junk sale in 1980’s sells for more than half a million pounds after it turns out to be a 26 carat diamond.
The previous owner of the stone bought the ring in the 80s at a car boot sale at West Middlesex Hospital, thinking it was only a costume jewellery. The woman wore it regularly before deciding to get it valued.

Sotheby’s auctioned the bargain diamond ring in London and following fierce bidding, the jewellery sold for a staggering £656,750.
The diamond ring’s history is practically a mystery with very little known of its provenance.
Industry expert Tobias Kormind, who runs 77Diamonds.com, is ‘convinced’ the ring would have once been owned by royalty.
