Who are the victims of the London terror attacks

Seven people were killed and 48 injured when three terrorists in a van mowed down pedestrians in the Saturday night London terror attacks. 21 of the wounded are still in critical conditions.

British Prime Minister confirmed that foreign nationals were among those killed in the latest London terror attacks. Canada’s Prime Minister and France’s foreign ministry were among the first to publicly acknowledge that they have lost citizens in the attack.

While British authorities said that police is still conducting investigations to identify the victims, the family of Christine Archibald confirmed that the 30-year-old lost her life after being struck by the van.

Christine Archibald moved to Europe to be close to her fiancé. She came over to London for the weekend and the couple was on London Bridge at the moment of the attack. The young woman was hit by the white van and she died in her fiancé’s arms despite his best efforts to save her.

Christine was described by her family in a statement made to the Canadian press. Before moving to Europe, she worked with homeless people and Christine’s family asked those that wish to honor her memory to donate to homeless shelters.

“She had room in her heart for everyone and believed strongly that every person was to be valued and respected,” the statement said. “She would have had no understanding of the callous cruelty that caused her death. Please honor her by making your community a better place.”

The fiancé’s brother broke the news on Facebook to his friends with a post describing the circumstances of Christine’s death.

“I can’t even believe this is real! My brother and his fiancé were on London Bridge last night. She was one of the victims struck by the van. They tried everything but weren’t able to save her. His life, and all those close to her have been changed forever. My heart goes out to her family in his desperate time. These senseless acts of terror need to stop! What does it accomplish other then wreck the lives of innocent people? I’m so mad at the type of people who can do this. Please everyone live life to the fullest, it’s so fragile and can be ripped away at any moment. I love you Tyler! Stay strong!” Mark Ferguson said on Facebook.

The fiancé’s sister also took to Facebook recounting talking with her sobbing brother on the phone. She asked friends to help him overcome this tragedy.

“I can’t breath. You hear these things so often but it doesn’t seem real. Last night in London my baby brother lost the love of his life on the London bridge. In a split second his entire life was ripped away from him. Hearing his painful sobs on the phone while he’s alone trying to deal with this tears me apart. I have no words. If you know Tyler, please be there for him now, and later when what happened sinks in, he’s going to need us all,” Cassie Ferguson wrote on Facebook.

France says two citizens missing since London attack

Two French citizens have been missing since Saturday night’s attack in London, Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said on Monday during a visit to the French embassy in the British capital.

Le Drian confirmed that one French citizen died in the attack and said eight French had been injured, four of whom are in a serious condition. The four others suffered less serious injuries and two of them are not in hospital anymore, he told reporters.

Le Drian said cooperation between France and Britain on security issues was strong and would not suffer from Britain’s vote to leave the European Union.

“The relationship between our intelligence services is exemplary, there is no reason that this would change,” he said.

Another victim is reported to be a 27-year-old French men, coming from Saint-Malo, in Brittany. The name has not been made public yet but the French Foreign Ministry confirmed the death of one national.
