Manchester Police release CCTV footage of suicide bomber

CCTV footage of Salmen Abedi has been released by Manchester Police, of the moments prior to the suicide attack. Manchester Police are keen to gain as much insight and information about Abedi manoeuvres prior to the attack at the Ariana Grande concert last week. They are also seeking those who may have pertinent information to contact them to help with the investigation.
As part of the investigation Manchester Police have interviewed members of Abedi’s family and according to his cousins and brother nobody had suspected that he was capable of such an atrocity. In fact, family members described Abedi as ‘bubbly and friendly’.
The key reason that Manchester Police has released these images of Abedi is to glean information about where he acquired the explosive material and who he colluded with to do so. It is unlikely that Abedi acted completely alone as such attacks require third party involvement. Therefore it is imperative that the police gather such evidence to limit the possibility of a further attack.

Detective Chief Superintendent Russ Jackson advised that the investigation is making significant progress. In particular, a blue suitcase that Abidi can be seen carrying, prior to the attack, is of extreme importance and they are keen to trace its whereabouts. It is believed that within this suitcase Abedi may have been transporting the explosive material. Manchester Police have urged anyone with pertinent information to contact them.
