Doehrman Buba to give away four tickets to the upcoming 2017 Joseph Maley Foundation 5K Run/Walk

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA—It’s a startling statistic. Five percent of school children in Indianapolis have some form of disability, with four of five having cognitive disabilities. To help foster disability awareness, programs and educational opportunities throughout the Indianapolis community, Doehrman Buba is pleased to be a sponsor of the 2017 Joseph Maley Foundation 5K Run/Walk. The money raised from the event will “serve children of all abilities.”

“It is an honor to serve as a sponsor for such a worthy cause,” stated Thomas C. Doehrman, a founding attorney for the law firm. “This is just one small way for us to give back to a community that’s near and dear to our heart. We take pride in helping others in any way we can.”

To further show their appreciation for those who are doing their part to make a difference in their community, Doehrman Buba is pleased to announce the launch of a contest to give away four participation tickets (valued up to $140) to the upcoming event. Registration for the event starts at $35. However, four lucky winners of the firm’s contest can skip the registration fee all together if selected.

“Taking part in our contest is easy. All participants of the contest have to do is answer the following question, ‘What is one thing I do to empower children in the Indianapolis area or to advocate or their behalf?’” stated Daniel J. Buba, a founding attorney for the firm. “They must leave their response to the questions on our official Facebook page.”

Four participants with the best response to the question will win the tickets as well as a chance to have his or her story told to the community. The firm will choose the winners on Thursday, July 13th. The winners will be provided with a promo code on Friday, July 14th for the premier 5K event.

“We truly look forward to reading the many responses to the question. We know that there are so many good people in our community doing great things to make it better for all of us,” stated Doehrman. “These people are an inspiration to all of us.”

The 9th Annual Joseph Maley Foundation 5K Run, Walk Roll will take place on July 15th in the heart of downtown Indianapolis at the Michael A. Carroll Stadium Track at IUPUI. The family friendly event serves as a fundraiser for the foundation to support programs such as Disability Awareness, Kids on the Block and Strings and Sticks. The event includes a 5K competitive run/roll as well as a 2 mile noncompetitive walk/roll. Children ages 5 and under are also invited to participate in the kiddie dash prior to the awards ceremony. There will be post-race refreshments, face painting, art projects and live entertainment after the race for everyone to enjoy. The foundation hopes to raise $25,000 at this year’s event.

The foundation is named in honor of Joseph Maley, a child born with disabilities, both cognitive and physical. At age 18, he passed away from leukemia, but his legacy lives on through the organization.
