Anthony Scaramucci argues he was only joking

Shortly after being fired as the White House Communications director, Anthony Scaramucci insists that he was only ‘joking’ by his vulgar tirade and cancels his plans to discuss his firing with Trump supporters.

After only ten days on the job, Anthony Scaramucci was fired as the Trump Administration’s communications director. Shortly after his vulgar verbal assault on members of the president’s staff, including Stephen Bannon, the chief White House Strategist, and John F. Kelly’s struggling predecessor, Scaramucci was escorted out of White House property Monday July 31st for going a bit too far as the new communications director.

While Scaramucci worked for a boss who gets satisfaction from pushing well-established boundaries, it looks like Trump himself wasn’t having it this time. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary said, “The president certainly felt that Anthony’s comments were inappropriate for a person in that position.”

Only hours after Scaramucci’s swift removal, the president tweeted, “A great day at the White House!” A great day indeed, considering that every day a new drama unfolds out of the White House.

Trump was initially pleased by Scaramucci’s harsh remarks, but later changed his tune after comprehending the backlash his remarks soon received. Now that Scaramucci has been physically escorted off of White House property, he has managed to wholeheartedly change his tune about his infamous rant. He proclaimed, “Most of what I said was humorous and joking” to the Huffpost on Tuesday.

Asked by the Huffpost what he will do now, Scaramucci said, “I am now going to go dark. Then I will reemerge. As me.” Scaramucci has since canceled his August 4th plans to discuss his White House firing. Scheduled to host a live online event discussing the events that led up to his firing, Scaramucci has now bowed out from his plans. He tweeted, “No Press Event Tomorrow: Focusing on Family, My Work in the Private Sector. #MovingForward Stay Tuned!”
