Europe opposes new American sanctions against Russia.

On Wednesday President Donald Trump signed a bill that will impose new sanctions on Moscow, but at the same time he expressed his unwillingness to the measure.

The bill will impose tougher measures on Russia for its interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election while simultaneously limit the president’s ability to lift such sanctions.

Trump said in a statement that the bill was ” seriously flawed”. He further said that ” it hurts the interests of our European allies and will drive China, Russia and North Korea closer.”

Some of America’s closest allies are warning that it would harm their economies and they may retaliate against the United States in return.

EC President Juncker warned of collateral damage to Europe’s energy Market, as the sanctions could hit European companies involved with Russia’s energy export pipelines. He further added that” America first cannot mean that Europe’s interests come last.”

Germany, in a separate statement suggested that the United States was using the sanctions against Russia as cover for its natural-gas interests.
