New technology that was a well-kept secret. RED hydrogen one has revolutionized conventional thinking. It seems to be fulfilling tech prophecies predicted in sci-fi cinema.

Jim Jannard, who founded Oakley sunglasses and sportswear sold his previous business for $2.1 billion dollars and went on in 2005 to launch a new brand, RED. With RED Jannard began developing cheaper, more portable, high-quality digital movie cameras that began revolutionizing the film industry. Recently, used to film Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, which was the first feature film to be shot with the company’s new compact 8k RED Weapon camera.

However, Jannard now seems to have his sights set on creating a revolutionary smartphone. It is however, too early to begin speculating how it will compete with other smartphones. Yet, you would not bet against Jannard to develop another amazing product which is due to release Q1 2018.

Here is what we know so far about the product – it will be powered by Google’s Andriod OS and

you will be able to experience holographic multi-view content in the palm of your hand with no glasses needed. Instead of the glasses, it has a 5.7” professional hydrogen holographic display, thus the retina-riveting display features an advancement in nanotechnology that should smoothly switch between the more traditional 2D content, holographic multi-view content, 3D content, and even interactive games – supporting both landscape and portrait modes.

Another amazing feature is its H30 algorithm that converts stereo sound into expansive multi-dimensional audio – consider 5.1 surround sound style audio blaring through your headphone. Audio is definitely one place where other smartphones need to step up their technology.

For filmmakers they will be able to use the RED Hydrogen One device to create .h4v or even convert 3D to .h4v content. Further, it can act as a monitor working in unisons with Scarlet, EPIC and Weapon RED cameras.

The device has been available to pre-order since the 6th of July and comes cased in either aluminum costing $1,195 or the slightly more expensive titanium $1,595 casing. The price will go up once the product is released and early bird consumers will be given a “special small token” for ordering early.

The jury is still out on this product. How well will it function? Is there enough information to convince people to buy this product yet? Will the hefty price tag be worth it? Will it be the right smartphone for me? These are just some of the questions that no doubt consumers will be scratching their heads asking. Whatever the answers may be the future of smartphones looks to be following some of the prophecies predicted in sci-fi cinema.
