The importance of using sunscreen
With the summer months approaching, you want to pay special attention to your skin. It is very easy to get sunburn and start peeling like nobody’s business. Some people feel like because they have darker skin they don’t need sunscreen but that is definitely a myth. As long as you have skin you can benefit from using sunscreen in the summer months.
One of the main reasons you want to wear sunscreen all summer long is because the ozone layer is damaging and your body needs protection from harmful rays. The sun can really dry your skin out, so you want to prevent that as much as possible.
Skin cancer (and cancer in general) rates are skyrocketing and sunscreen has been proven to decrease the onset of skin cancer. I know that we are all going to pass away someday, but you don’t want to die of cancer, that’s one miserable death.
Sunscreen also helps prevent defects such as facial brown spots, skin discolorations, red veins and blotchiness. I have always felt like the skin is one of everyone’s most noticeable features so you want to treat your skin right and make a good impression.
I know obtaining vitamin D is good for you but you don’t want to abuse it either. You can get a good amount of vitamin D by having a diet that consists of fish, milk, dairy and eggs.
Remember sunscreen its self can be convenient being that here are spray on ones. Gone are the days of using a messy cream. There are many different brands as well. There is no excuse not to use sunscreen this summer, so layer it on!
