What depression really is?

Depression is a common mental disorder globally.  More than 300 million people of all ages suffer from this horrible disorder and at its worst can lead to suicide, warns the World Health Organization.

But what can be done to help people struggling with depression?

Feel good brain chemicals or increasing the body’s temperature can also be of help, as Mayo Clinic studies have shown.

Speaking to a psychiatrist is also recommended as they can prescribe antidepressants.

According to the NHS, talking to someone about your depression could be as effective as antidepressants.

“Patients with severe depression benefit as much from psychological therapy as they do from pills,”  found a study comparing these two treatments.

The results were determined by using randomised control trials (RCT).
