Get rid of the insects in your home naturally

A recent study revealed that children who have been exposed to pesticides in their homes might have a higher risk of getting cancer, so eliminating bugs in a more natural way would be better.

A review of 16 studies made since 1990s discovered that kids who have been around certain home pesticides have a higher risk of developing leukemia and lymphoma, as MNN reports.

The kids exposed to indoor insecticides were 47% more likely to be diagnosed with leukemia and 43% more likely to be diagnosed with lymphoma than those who have never been exposed to the chemicals in insecticides.

“We don’t know ‘how much’ exposure it takes, or if there’s a critical window in development,” senior researcher Chensheng (Alex) Lu, an associate professor of environmental exposure biology at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, told HealthDay. “I think it’s important to get this information out to parents, and let them use their own best judgment.”

Insects still remain a problem, despite all these. If you want to get rid of them naturally, use these methods:

Ants

Ants can be prevented from invading your home by using lemon juice, cinnamon and peppermint.

Houseflies

You can try flypaper or flytraps or, even simpler, a bag of water.

Stink bugs

Dish soap might actually help you get rid of stink bugs

Roaches

Although it might take a while to get rid of them, proper cleaning and sealing up of the spots where they get inside will help.

Fruit flies

Try to get rid of leftover fruits and veggies. You can also use Truvia to get rid of them. The artificial sweetener found in Truvia might be a safe pesticide.

Gnats

Get rid of moisture sources and use dish soap and vinegar to eliminate them.

Fleas

Try to use a vacuum cleaner at first. If that doesn’t work, consider boric acid, diatomaceous earth or flea traps.
