All these things didn’t stop Marcus from brutally murdering his girlfriend and trying to get rid of her body without anyone noticing what he had done.

According to abc.net.au, the workman had been called to Marcus Volke’s flat after the stove he used to boil sex worker Mayang Prasetyo’s body spilled onto his oven cutting power to his apartment.

And in a chilling call that was heard on the first day of an inquest into Mayang’s death, workman Brad Coyne was told by Volke: “You have to mind the smell.”

It was Coyne who would warn police after encountering an odor that neighbors described as being like “rotting meat”.

He soon raised the alarm with cops and they went knocking at the door of Volke – also a sex worker – soon after.

After answering the door to the realization police were onto him, Volke asked to secure his dogs and locked the door.

He then slashed his own throat before stumbling out of the flat in a pool of blood and killing himself in a nearby industrial bin.
Inside the apartment police found a scene of horror – with £280-a-night escort Mayang’s feet cooking in a pot.

Senior Constable Bryan Reird said: “(There) was a bad smell, it was something I hadn’t smelt before and can’t really describe.”
Volke had met his future wife at a Melbourne brothel dubbed the “Pleasure Dome” where they worked together.

There, Volke described himself as a “young sexy Australian boy, very friendly and easy going, discreet and professional”.

Mayang had been working to send money back to her homeland of Indonesia where she was putting her sisters through school. A three-day inquest is now attempting to discover what happened in the final moments before the gruesome murder suicide.

Her time in Australia took a sinister turn in the flat of 28-year-old Volke. He was discovered trying to dispose of his lover’s body by boiling her body parts on a stove. Neighbours pointed police towards the flat after noticing putrid smells wafting from the apartment.

When officers arrived they described a scene of horror that took four days to clean. It included rubber gloves, bleach, a “squelching” carpet, a vomit-inducing smell, and a “massive” cooking pot on the stove.

The coroner must also rule on the death of Volke, who fled police and killed himself with a knife inside an industrial bin. A three-day hearing is expected to decide when, how and where Mayang died. It will also look into allegations the murder took place following a furious row between the pair.
