This isn’t the first social experiment of this kind, there have been quite a few in recent years, and most of them have surprising results and it’s always the people you expect the least who surprise you.
We’ve seen countless people that actually have money taking advantage of others and trying to grab as much free cash as they can, while those that are homeless and literally have nothing are the most kind and generous and want to help others and only take what they need if given the chance.
According to dailymail.co.uk, another social experiment was staged to see whether people would take advantage of a blind man – and overall the results were rather disappointing.
YouTube personality Adrian Gee, of Adelaide, Australia, took to the streets with a pair of dark glasses and a long cane while posing as a blind man.
He approached a number of unsuspecting people and asked them for change from a five dollar note before handing them ten times that.
The people were put in a predicament where they could either tell Adrian that he had mistakenly handed them a 50 dollar bill.
Or they could be dishonest and attempt to dupe him, either by giving him the change and wandering off with a $45 dollar profit.
Or by pretending to hand him his note back, but in fact switching it for another of far less value.
The footage shows a mixture of reactions from people and the original video begins with one of the most shocking.
After asking a man for some change he simply takes the note from Adrian and wanders away with it.
Other people are less callous and one woman quickly informs the man that he is trying to give her a lot more money than he intends to do so.
Another woman later does the same before taking the correct note from Adrian and counting out the coins in his hand.
A man, however, was filmed being a little less honest and quickly dumps coins into Adrian’s outstretched hand before heading away with the note.
A couple also hand over the wrong change for the note before walking away while an honest man, who told Adrian he was holding $50, looks at him in a concerned manner.
The social experiment concludes with a man taking the note from Adrian and quickly rifling in his wallet for some change.
He is unable to find any coins so decides to remove a smaller bill, which he hands to Adrian in place of the $50.
He quickly heads off with the money before he is stopped by Adrian who removes his glasses and confronts him about what he has done.
The video concludes with the man apologizing for his behavior before Adrian instructs him to be honest next time.
