One may think that the Chinese would uphold that tradition and incorporate it as one of their family values.

A woman aged 92 has been found in a dirty pigpen located in Guangxi, China – all locked up.

She has also been starved till she became bone-thin, showing her full skeletal frame. Her sleeping quarters only contained an old quilt covered by rotting wood.

She was rescued by the local police and admitted into a nearby hospital for medical treatment. When questioned, she stated that her own son, together with his wife, were responsible for her state.

Unfortunately, this woman is one of the many people renounced by their families and locked up in pigpens across China. The woman is now recuperating and her son and his wife were found guilty of mistreatment by the police.

Shocking footage shows a 92-year-old great-grandma forced to live in a filthy cage for years by her own son and daughter-in-law.

A video of the woman in her pen in Fengshan County, Guangxi province circulated online forcing the local township party to intervene and send the woman to hospital, reports Huanqiu, an affiliation with the People’s Daily Online.

According to the great grandmother, she had been kept in the pen for several years and had not been given enough food or clothes. She is now recovering in hospital.

Chinese media reported that the video of the 92-year-old showed the conditions she was kept in. The area was poorly lit and had poor sanitation and there was no bed.

She was forced to sleep on a piece of wood with a quilt for warmth.

The cage was kept constantly locked.

The son and daughter-in-law were questioned by Fengshan County Administration Office however officials reported that they had a bad attitude and did not listen.

Officials were forced to report the case to the local government who immediately set up a investigation and visited the woman.

They found the woman lying in a cage less than 107 square feet.

The couple were ordered to immediately free the woman and put her in their living room.

The ordered the woman to be given a bath while officials brought the great grandmother clothes.

Health care workers were also sent to the scene to give her a health check before she was then taken to hospital for further examination.

The woman remains in hospital for treatment. Police say they are waiting for her to recover before she is questioned any further.

Many people have shared their outrage at the woman’s treatment on social media site Weibo.
