Kelcie and Larry share that kind of rare unbreakable love that we could all learn something from on Valentine’s Day — and every other day for that matter.

In high school, he was the football and track star; she was the spunky fan who never missed a game. The pair knew early on that they would spend the rest of their lives together.

But, four years ago, a life-altering tragedy threatened to destroy their dreams. Their incredible story of resilience and commitment appropriately resurfaced on Reddit on Friday.

In March 2010, on the same night that Larry showed his future sister-in-law the engagement ring that he planned to give to Kelcie, he was hit by a drunk driver. Larry fell into a coma for months and doctors weren’t sure he would wake up, Kelcie’s sister, McKenzie Yeoman, said in a video she made for the couple last August.

Larry eventually emerged from the coma but his prognosis was grim. He had suffered a traumatic brain injury and would need a wheelchair to get around.

But Kelcie remained by his side, and even started working at the facility where Larry was being treated.

The two still remained committed to getting married.

Three years later, Larry reached the point where he was able to propose. While surrounded by friends and family, Larry gave Kelcie the ring he had originally set out to put on her finger.

However, because the two had been saddled with medical bills, they couldn’t afford a wedding.

So, in August, Yeoman launched a fundraising campaign on Indiegogo for the couple to celebrate their big day at Disneyland.

Within 11 days, their fundraising goal was reached — in total, donors raised more than $27,000 for Kelcie and Larry. The couple plans on using any extra funds to help pay for additional rehabilitation for Larry.

“All I can say is WOW!” Kelcie wrote on the Indiegogo page after the goal had been reached. “I am so thankful for all the wonderful people in our life! And thankful for all the people we know and all the people we don’t know who took the time to watch the video and contribute to our dream wedding! I can’t believe that Larry and I will be celebrating the happiest day of our lives in the happiest place on earth!”
