VIDEO: This Man Builds an Ark to Inspire Christians!

Dutch builder Johan Huibers had a bad dream about a flood, so the next day when he woke up, decided to build an ark by himself. His final result is a very good remark of Noah’s ark. Huibers actually thinks believes that his creation will be used, one day, in saving humanity and Earth’s creatures. In fact, this ark really has pretty incredible dimensions!
According to CNN, a Dutchman has built a replica of Noah’s Ark to biblical proportions, following a dream he had in which his homeland would be flooded.
Johan Huibers is a wealthy businessman and he used the ancient measurement of the cubit, the length of a man’s arm from elbow to fingertips, to build the vessel to the dimensions which were specified in the book of Genesis.
The finished craft, which was actually made available to be seen by the public on the Merwede River in the Dutch town of Dordrecht, is 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide and 30 cubits high, making it approximately 137-21-14 in meters.
Huibers has transformed the ark into a Bible museum and has even brought in life-sized animals made entirely of plastic, as well as made an aviary with live birds with which the visitors can interact.
He explains that through his work, he wants to tell people about God and to make sure that he can explain the Bible in real terms and make people understand what the word of God means. He hopes that people can be better Christians and that all the good people can get into Heaven.
But this isn’t Huibers’ first ark. He completed his first, a half-scale replica of Noah’s Ark, in 2004, and used it to take tourists on canal trips, before beginning work on a full-scale version in 2008.
The origin of the project stems from a dream Huibers said he had in 1992, in which the low-lying Netherlands was flooded by the North Sea.
He was looking with his children through a book about Noah’s ark and that’s when he had the revelation that that is what he had to do. He started to build the ark to inspire children, as well as grown-ups because in the Old Testament when the flood came the world was cleansed of sin and the ark was the only thing that survived.
Despite his best efforts, it was impossible to adhere entirely to the biblical description of the Ark. Genesis describes Noah’s boat as made of “gopher wood,” but experts disagree over what this is.
Instead, Huibers and his team built the boat by welding together the metal hulls of 25 barges into a single frame, which was then covered with Scandinavian pine. Weighing about 3,000 tons, the boat contains sleeping quarters, a theater, restaurant and conference facilities to seat 1,500 people.
