VIDEO: Girl Suspended From School After Shaving Her Head
Delaney Clements was diagnosed with cancer in 2011. She experienced relapse after relapse and lost her hair over and over again because of the chemotherapy. Her best friend, Kamryn Renfro, refused to let the Delaney be bald alone one more time, so she decided to shave her head as a sign of solidarity. Her school then immediately suspended her for breaking the no-shaved-heads rule that is part of the Colorado’s school’s dress code. A firestorm erupted on Facebook after Kamryn’s mom posted about the incident. As a result, the school was forced to recant the girl’s suspension and The Caprock Academy Board of Directors voted a waiver to the dress code policy.
