VIDEO: Doctor Hears Woman Screaming and Bolts at Her from Across the Room
The Emergency Room of a hospital is a place where a lot of weird things happen.
This is where all the action is at and a lot of people go through the emergency room every day so there’s bound for some interesting things to take place there.
Most doctors have interesting stories about what they saw there, but there are some that just seem unbelievable for those that weren’t there to witness them.
The case from the video below is one of them and if there weren’t any witnesses to it you probably would never have believed that it is real and not fake at all.
According to opposingviews.com, a doctor with quick reflexes reportedly managed to catch a flying baby in an ER after its mother gave birth.
The unusual incident was re-enacted during a 2005 episode of the “Untold Stories of the ER” show, according to Little Things.
Dr. Mauricio Heilbron, Jr., said he was treating a patient with a gunshot wound and another whose small intestines were outside his body at a hospital in San Pedro, California, when the incident took place.
He reportedly heard a woman screaming and someone running full speed down the corridor.
The person running was an unnamed doctor, who managed to make it to the pregnant woman in the nick of time.
Just as the woman gave birth and the baby flew out, he reportedly jumped onto her gurney and caught the newborn child.
The well-dressed doctor’s attire of buttoned shirt, pressed pants and Oxford shoes did not fair too well in the incident.
“Here’s this immaculately dressed emergency room physician now covered in afterbirth, blood, fluid, feces, urine, god knows what else,” Heilbron said on the episode of “Untold Stories of the ER.”
Discovery Life premiered season 10 of “Untold Stories of the ER,” which has broadcasted since 2004, in December 2015, according to Broadway World.
In more than a decade, 270 doctors have been featured treating a wide variety of injuries and illnesses.
Television series like “Untold Stories of the ER” include “a combination of cheesy re-enactments and recollections of the participants,” according to the New York Times.
This has led some to wonder how real the events it portrays actually are.
Who would have imagined that such a thing was possible? We’ve heard or seen doctors that have great reflexes and manage to catch babies mid air, but usually they are the ones delivering the baby and are right there next to the mother that is giving birth.
But this doctor ran across the emergency room and jumped to catch it when he couldn’t even have been sure that this was going to happen.
Luckily he got there in time and nothing happened to the baby or the mother.
He is a great doctor for having figured this out and actually managing to catch the child.
He probably became a hero for that family and for the other doctors of the hospital and they will always remember this moment.
