VIDEO: Athiya Shetty Joins Dad Sunil in the Reunion of ‘Border’

It was a great hit and remains one to this day, as people are still crazy about it 20 years later.
The cast recently had a reunion, where the actors reminisced and remembered stories from set.
Athiya Shetty, Sunil Shetty’s daughter, joined her father and stood by his side while he fought nostalgia.
According to laughingcolours.com, the cast of ‘Border’ recently had a re-union after 2o years the movie hit the screens. The movie starred Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, and Akshay Khanna in lead roles. This movie was based on the Battle of Longewala during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, and was produced and directed by J. P. Dutta.
It was the highest grossing Bollywood film of 1997. After 20 years, the team came forward to have a re-union and to celebrate their success as the movie is still loved by many. Pooja Bhatt, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Anu Malik, and JP Dutta were a part of get-together.
Pooja Bhatt shared a clip of her favourite scene from the movie on her Twitter account. The caption read, “On the eve of #20yearsofborder my favourite scene from the film.Thank you J.P.Dutta.” Suneil also took to Twitter to write,”Lines from #Border that have stayed fresh in the mind! #20YearsOfBorder.”
Sunil Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty was also a part of the reunion and she looked lovely wearing a blue outfit.
Veteran filmmaker JP Dutta, recently unveiled the first poster of his upcoming movie ‘Paltan’ which is a war drama and will be based on other great story of our glorious history.
He said, “It’s time to tell a new story, to tell another part of history of our country and salute more real life heroes! I present ‘PALTAN’. A film and a subject very close to my heart and I’m extremely excited about it,”
The cast of the movie will be announced soon and the film is scheduled for a release in summers of 2018.
He last directed ‘Umrao Jaan’ in 2006.
According to Wikipedia, Border is a 1997 Indian war drama film based on the Battle of Longewala during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, produced and directed by J. P. Dutta. The film starred an ensemble cast of Sunny Deol, Sunil Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles.
The film is an adaptation from real life events that happened at the Battle of Longewala during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The film was screened retrospective on August 13th 2016 at the Independence Day Film Festival jointly presented by the Indian Directorate of Film Festivals and Ministry of Defense, commemorating 70th Indian Independence Day.
Border intended to make an appeal against war. Thus, the end of the movie depicted most soldiers dead and the trauma it caused to their family members.
The lyrics of song “Mere Dushman Mere Bhai” sung by Hariharan criticises war and describes its disastrous effects, with the lines “Hum Apne Apne Kheton Mein Gehoon Ki Jagah Chaanval Ki Jagah, Ye Bandookein Kyoon Botein Hain…. Jab Dono Hi Ki Galiyon Mein, Kuch Bhooke Bachche Rotein Hain….!!”
