According to dailymail.co.uk, an Australian law student has become a social media hit after posting about her travels across the world, including swimming with whales, sharks and even pigs and also other rarely seen animals.

Sarah Kohan, from Sydney, has spent the past few years traveling on her school breaks to some of the globe’s most exotic locations like the Cook Islands, Bora Bora, Hawaii, The Bahamas, Europe and South America.

The 22-year-old student, who has completed exchange courses at Harvard University and Columbia University, has documented her adventures in incredible photos on her Instagram, which has skyrocketed to 245,000 followers within a few months.

The avid freediver is not only pictured frolicking through rainforests or on sandy beaches surrounded by turquoise water, but she is also seen swimming with a group of sharks, diving beside humpback whales, feeding iguanas and cuddling pigs.

The student, who will graduate from Notre Dame in June before hopefully interning with the International Criminal Court in the Netherlands, told Daily Mail Australia her favourite trips have been when she encountered wildlife.

‘When I’m underwater and swimming with a whale, it seems like nothing else matters – seeing an animal in their element and being able to interact with them without feeling scared or them feeling vulnerable – that’s nice to see,’ she said.

Ms Kohan said she has been swimming with sharks for about seven years and swum with humpback whales for the first time last year.

She said that she hopes to break the stigma surrounding sharks.
‘They’re beautiful creatures and so unique. People always need to be respectful of their surroundings and appreciate that they are just a beautiful animal.’

The 22-year-old, who works as a nanny while attending school, said she began documenting her travels on Instagram and her rising popularity soon helped her forge relationships with hotels and swimsuit brands.

Ms Kohan said she has teamed up with Four Seasons and Maui and the Ritz Carlton in Laguna for projects, during which the company pays for her hotel in exchange for promotional work.

She said she was funding all of her own travels initially but it is now ’50/50.’

Ms Kohan said social media has changed the way people travel and has helped her share her experienced with friends, family and other globe trotters.

‘I think it has given everybody their own way to show a unique perspective on different locations. When I’m planning a trip I look at the tagged locations and see what other people have done and use that as inspiration to create my own.’
