VIDEO: She Hasn’t Cut Her Hair in 20 Years and Now She’s Real-Life Rapunzel
Every little girl that has seen Tangled and knows the story of Rapunzel wanted to have that glorious never-ending hair.
The thing is that usually hair doesn’t grow that long and even if you are the type of person that is capable of growing it really long it’s a real problem to take care of it.
You always have to be careful and braid it or keep it up so that people do not step on it or that it doesn’t get caught in things.
You have to take extra good care of it and it would take a really long time to wash it, shampoo it, condition it and dry it, which, of course, will be bothersome.
According to viral4real.com, 27-year-old Aliia Nasyrova has always been a fan of fairy-tales.
She was always amazed by the heroine’s long hair that she refused to cut her hair for 20 years to be like them. Aliia’s husband Ivan Balaban is so used to his wife’s lengthy locks he says he thinks of it as a ‘member of the family’.
‘I started to grow my hair because since childhood I liked long hair very much. And I was always attracted by long hair heroines from fairy tales,’ she said.
She only ‘trims’ her hair to cut off split ends once a month, but refuses to cut more. As a matter of fact, her hair is longer than her actual height! Now weighing two kilos, her hair has reached 90 inches in length.
She admits that maintenance can be hard at times, and that the weight of her hair strains her neck too. Since her hair takes time to wash and dry, she only washes it once a week.
She said: ‘My hair is so heavy, I would compare it to the weight of my cat.’
Fortunately for her, she found a husband that loves her hair just the way he loves her.
Her husband, Ivan said: ‘I am always cuddling up the wall [when in bed] to give more space for hair, so there is no way I can damage it accidentally, mix them up or harm it any other way.
Trying to keep his laughter in, he added: ‘I always talk to the braid respectfully. Sometimes I ask it to move a bit.’
Ivan also admits that the couple even have to schedule their holidays around Aliia’s haircare needs.
‘When we are going away to somewhere we always plan the entire day for it since we understand that otherwise we will lose one day from our vacation and we will have to sit inside at home,’ he said.’
Despite the negative comments on social media regarding her hair, Aliia has no plans of cutting her hair off anytime soon.
She said: ‘I don’t have a dream to get into the Guinness World Record Book since I believe the current registered record for longest hair is more than five metres – but I think I have longest hair in Latvia.’
