VIDEO: He Was Driving When He Saw a Huge Hole in the Middle of a Lake

We may have sophisticated modern technology today but we have to admit that there are still parts of the Earth that there are still unexplored. No matter how much we want to maximize what we know about the Earth, there are still limitations.

But there are fortunate moments when we witness the wonders of our world unexpectedly.

According to socialpees.com, this man was just passing by Lake Berryessa when he saw a mysterious and wonderful hole in it.

Lake Berryessa is considered the largest lake in Napa County in California and is considered the seventh largest man-made lake in California.

Aside from the lake’s massive size, there is something in it that attracts the attention of many people.

A large hole which seems to be a whirlpool or a passageway to another world can be found on this man-made lake. The hole is called the “Glory Hole” It only looks like a portal to reach another dimension but it is actually a spillway created to avoid overflow of water from the Monticello Dam.

The dam formed the reservoir. It is the source of water and hydroelectricity for residents living in the North Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area.

The lake level at the time at which this video was filmed was at 441.3 feet or 1.3 feet above the spillway and this is because of the rains and runoff.

The level of the lake helped a lot and this is how it was possible to capture the breath-taking beauty of the Glory Hole.

Every day it is so obvious that Mother Earth has so much to offer us with the mysterious and intricately designed landscapes. Even though this beautiful lake is located inside a man-made dam it’s its special hole that really manages to impress people and convince them to come and see it.

This isn’t the only man-made hole that has captured our attention. Humongous holes can be found scattered all across the globe. Some of them are made with the help of nature like craters or even collapsed cave systems, while the others are created by mankind.

The huge man-made holes create pockmarks inside the Earth and the indicate that natural resources are being stripped from the land. A few of these holes are so humongous that they can even be seen by the astronauts with the help of some technology.

One of the most famous ones is a diamond mine from Yellowknife, Canada because it’s a huge diamond mine that makes more than 8 million carats each year. An ice road freezes over in cold weather but it once was the only connection to the huge hole.

Because the mine is pretty remote, an entire airport was constructed that has a 5,235-foot gravel runway which is large enough to land a Boeing 737. Since it’s so huge, the hole won’t last more than another 16-22 years.

There are many other amazing huge holes but the only way to settle which one is the most interesting and beautiful you would have to go to every one of them and visit.
