Daniel has Down syndrome, and growing up he has noticed the way he is often stigmatized by his classmates.

When one classmate heard about Daniel’s wishes to go to junior prom, she decided that she was going to take him to the dance and asked him.

Kylie told FOX5 news that she doesn’t see kids with disabilities as different. ‘I see them as being a normal person, learning in a different way.’

On the night of the junior prom, the FOX5 surprise squad showed up as Kylie and Daniel were getting ready to leave and asked them a few questions. ‘I hope I can make his night fun.’ Kylie said.

The first surprise was when a Rolls Royce pulled up and they were told that this was going to be their ride for the night.

The first stop before the big dance was a meal at the Aliante Casino at Bistro 57. Daniel orders a plate of spaghetti and meatballs and Kylie some pizza.

After high school, Daniel hopes to become a chef by going to culinary school.

On the way to the dance, Daniel became overwhelmed with emotion explaining that he was very happy. When the Rolls Royce pulled up, a red carpet was waiting for their entrance. As they walked together students clapped and cheered.

Finally at the prom, it was time to let loose and have some fun. Accompanied by the Surprise Squad, Kylie and Daniel danced the night away.

As the night went on, Monica Jackson of the Surprise Squad took to the stage to announce that they still weren’t quite finished. After calling Daniel and Kylie to the stage, it was time for their final surprises.

First, Monica announces that they will be sending both of the families on a trip to Disneyland. As the crowd cheers, Monica passes the mic to Don Forman, who says he is very proud of Daniel and that they will be giving him a $10,000 scholarship to go to college once high school is over.

They also had one last surprise for Kylie. After asking everyone to exit the left door, Don takes Kylie’s hand and leads her to her brand new car which is waiting outside with a bow on top.

As Daniel expressed his excitement about going to school, his mother Tonya explained that Daniel’s biggest wish has always been to go to college. “This opportunity that he was blessed with is unbelievable.’
