This man takes an unusual route between London and Newcastle due to lower costs

A 21-year-old took an unusual route between London and Newcastle due to the lower costs that this alternative implied.

Joe Furness realized that it would be much cheaper to fly from Newcastle to London via Spain than take a direct route by train from Newcastle to London. Joe explains that his trip was to “show just how ridiculous the UK train fares are”.

”But I once flew from Newcastle to Manchester via Switzerland, because it was like £20 cheaper… So I thought I’d have a look to see what the flights from Newcastle, to anywhere in the world, and back to London Gatwick,” Furness declared, so he booked a flight to Menorca (one of Spain’s Balearic islands), and then on to London Gatwick for a total of only £26.
