She is considered one of the most influential leaders in the area of personal development. Karen is a very inspiring and talented woman by just applying the principals she teaches in just 10 months into her career was able to reach over 40 million people through her seminars, top television shows appearances, published articles and best-selling products. Throughout her life, she has received many recognitions.

She was named Hispanic Pride’s “Executive Woman of the Year” in 2007 and “Humanitarian of the Year 2010” by the LISTA organization. Karen Hoyos was also chosen to be the 2011 Good Will Ambassador and Face of Bulgarian Leadership Academy GLOW (Girls Leading Our World), just to name a few. Her teachings have benefited thousands of individuals, Fortune 500 companies as well as enterprises specializing in finances, network marketing, investments, medicine, and sales.

The question is, what led Karen Hoyos to a life as a Transformational Speaker? According to Hoyos, “Everything!” Before moving to the United States 12 years ago, she went through many difficulties. She is a survivor of Domestic Violence and at the time was very lost. Karen didn’t know what to do with her life and was suffering living a life of darkness. However, in her heart, she knew that she would find an answer and that there was more to life than that. Karen uses to read a lot of books when she was about 9 or 10 years old specifically in quantum and Metaphysics. She knew that she had a lot of knowledge in her head but was missing to apply it in her life.

Hoyos didn’t know how to do that and didn’t understand why these things were happening to her. She says, “When I moved to the United States a friend of mine invited me to her first development seminar with Anthony Robbins. I remember being so inspired by everything that was happening. There were people jumping and being energetic.” However, there was a moment that everything went silent for her and she didn’t hear anything and just saw people moving and then, Hoyos says, “I heard God’s voice in my heart.”

She knew that she had a lot of knowledge in her head but was missing to apply it in her life. Hoyos didn’t know how to do that and didn’t understand why these things were happening to her. According to Hoyos, this voice told her “Karen, what he is doing on stage is what you are going to do for the rest of your life and that was the day that I found my calling”. At that moment, she understood everything that happened in her life before, suffering, darkness, and difficulties. They were part of the perfect plan for her to serve as an inspiration to others.

Karen Hoyos didn’t know how she was going to do that because many people laughed at her and said “Karen you need to find a 9-5 and take care of your children. How are you going to make a living out of speaking?” At that time, her twin boys were babies. There were many people that doubted she would make it and sometimes she even questioned herself. Then, she would remember, “But who am I to question God if God put that calling in my heart.” So, that’s when Hoyos surrendered to that “calling” and invested all the money she had from her divorce and savings. She also invested everything that she had received from her mom who supported her in her education. Hoyos studied personal growth, spirituality, health, business, and marketing, practically everything you can think off. She took seminars all around the world with the best of the best in the industry. Hoyos didn’t just accumulate the knowledge, she believed in it and started seeing results in her own life. When she started seeing those results, she knew she was ready to share it with the world.

Karen is passionate about transforming people’s lives.  She says she is blessed to do what she loves, that’s why she doesn’t work a day in her life. Her mission is to connect everyone with their purpose. Hoyos knows everyone in this world has “a calling.” She says, “1% of the population knows and is living what their life purpose is. The rest of the planet doesn’t know what their mission or calling is.” Hoyos’ mission is to help them discover what that is. She helps people understand that life is not about surviving or just paying the bills.

Through her seminars, she teaches people that life is about service and, when we focus on what we can bring to the world, then everything else in our lives transforms. Hoyos says that it touches her life and moves her heart when people find their life purpose. She has many testimonials of people who went to her and, through her coaching and seminars, they found their life purpose and are now living a wonderful life. They get to do what they love, provide service to other people and live in abundance with it. She says, “Unfortunately, there are many people that think that if you love what you do, you can’t make money. They think that you should do one thing for money and one thing for love.” To those people, Karen says no. “We are here in this world to do both. We do what we love, we service people and we then make and create abundance.”

When Karen Hoyos works these seminars, her primary focus and message is “purpose.” If someone doesn’t know what their purpose is they will find out through her training. If someone does know their purpose but is not living it, they will find the tools to be able to do so. However, in order for someone to find their purpose, she explains there are other things that need to be transformed. For example, their own relationship with their past. If a person is mad or angry, they can never live their purpose until they have surpassed these feelings. Then, she can help people overcome their past. Healing is an important part of her training.

Another important factor she says will help those to live their life purpose is to have a good relationship with your own essence, your ego as well. She says, “Many people don’t understand that we all have an ego, talking bad about others or even about our own self. I train people to live their life and to be in control of their ego.” Communication is also key, and she teaches people how to be master communicators. In addition, to help individuals looking for guidance, Karen Hoyos certifies other coaches on how to build their brand and become extraordinary coaches. They are also taught how to coach celebrities, as Hoyos coaches Hollywood celebrities as well. She does not teach people how to play small. She says, “If you are ready to make an impact in the world, then that’s what I offer. I will bring out the superstar within you and bring it to the world.” Simply put, that is what her training is all about.

Hoyos says that when she was invited to the Oscars by a very good friend, that’s when her career shifted. The first celebrity she coached was Mel Gibson’s ex-wife after she met her at the Oscars. After that, she has coached some people by referral, which is now implemented for all clients. Her clients need to be referred by someone who is or has taken her seminars. Media, of course, has helped spread the word about her teachings and seminars.

“The process of healing is the purpose,” Hoyos states, “and when you are living in your purpose and doing what you love, sharing your gift with others, then God will provide you with everything that you need. This is one along with many other reasons is why I love to do transformational training.”

Karen Hoyos’ day to day is pretty busy, however she practices balance. She shares that being a mother, family member, friend and having it all is part of what she teaches. Karen does not believe in sacrifices; she doesn’t think anyone should sacrifice this to have that. She says, “When you are living your purpose you can do it all.”  When it comes to business, she schedules her family first and works around that. This empowered woman makes time for everything. Hoyos says, “The key to that is scheduling.” She also says that it is a responsibility to make time for your family and yourself.

Karen Hoyos’ definition of success is when someone is living their purpose and when they share their gift with the world. She says, “If you are doing what you love and, when you share it to make others happy and you do it with love, you are successful. Because purpose equals success.”
