Ever noticed almost all Disney villains meet their end like this? Here’s why!
If you think about a Disney villain’s death, it is most likely that they have fallen from a ledge or a tower or a long way to an assumed demise out of our view, according to the Independent.
The technique of depicting a death without violence became so popular that it eventually became a TV trope. Gaston, Scar, Maleficient, Captain Hook and many others have met their end in such a manner. There are a few exceptions, like Shan Yu’s death form a firework in Mulan.
The popularity of this death scene is pretty understandable. It obscures gore and violence from impressionable young minds, keeping the films family friendly. Furthermore, if the villain slips and falls or if a ledge breaks, it means the hero of the movie hasn’t explicitly killed them, so that people can be supportive oh a non-murderer hero.
