VIDEO: This is What a Car Crash at 200 KmH Looks Like. Never Speed!

In order to ensure that cars are as safe as possible on the roads, regular car crash tests are undertaken by all manufacturers and by safety organizations across the world as well.

While the tests are very serious and have a very important reason, there’s no denying the watching such videos of these tests can be extremely interesting and informative and a real eye opener for the regular population.

In this video we can see tests designed to illustrate what damage can be done to a vehicle in the event of a super high speed crash between two cars. A really high speed crash.

Somewhere deep in a Polish forest, you can see a whole bunch of different cars that are driven into other cars at speeds that are equal to or above 200km/h (that’s a full 125mph).

Obviously, the results are far from nice to see. But it is a great reminder that you should always be careful when you are at the wheel and never speed beyond the imposed speed limits because they exist with a purpose.

The most important lesson here that has been said over and over is simple: speed kills.

According to autoevolution.com, nowadays all sorts of agencies are tasked with developing anti-speeding campaigns.

However, sometimes it’s best to simply use the power of example.

So if you know somebody who is on the velocity drug and would like to help them channel their urges, simply show them the clip below.

The footage, which comes from an European organization that handles safety matters, brings us some of the most brutal accident testing moments we’ve seen in quite a while.

The velocity many drivers dream about before getting their licenses, namely 200 km/h (124 mph), was the one used as a reference point here.

You’ll get to see cars travelling at this speed crashing into stationary vehicles. This is also a good occasion to compare frontal and rear impacts

In fact “crashing into” doesn’t quite cut it here. It’s more like “obliterating”. And to make matters worse, concrete barriers are also used.

Some might say that such videos are pointless, since that kind of speed would destroy any car and kill the humans inside it, regardless of the protection systems available.

However, as we said, the point is to determine drivers not to reach this kind of speeds on restricted public roads.

But what about the Autobahn? Well, when we’re not talking about head-on collisions, we can talk about walking away from a triple-digit speed crash.

The most recent example of this came last month, when a McLaren crashed at about 240 km/h (150 mph).

We are taking about an MP4-12C, whose carbon fiber passenger cell did its job well.

The same can be said about the protection elements on the side of the German Autobahn.

The debris resulting from the accident spread over a quarter mile length, but the driver, a 71-year-old man, only suffered light injuries in the crash.
