VIDEO: Footage of the Exact Moment a Huge Pipe Bursts in Ukraine Destroying Everything
When you are out in the city, minding your own business, going to where you have to go you probably don’t expect that you could suddenly be injured or killed.
If you are not in a bad neighborhood where violent things usually happen then you are probably thinking that nothing can happen to you. Maybe the people near this place thought the same, but they ended up having a lot of bad luck.
It seems that out of nowhere a huge underwater pipe exploded and scared people and destroyed everything in its path.
According to dailymail.co.uk, this is the moment an underground water pipe exploded, sending rocks and soil flying and damaging nearby cars and buildings.
The huge bulge of soil exploded into the air after a high-pressure water pipe burst in the Ukrainian capital city of Kiev on Monday.
The spectacular explosion left six square-meter holes in the ground as muddy water flooded the streets.
One woman in a cream-colored sweater watched the explosion which damaged nearby cars – but incredibly left her unharmed.
The high-pressure water pipes had been used to funnel hot water to housing complexes from central heating plants.
Fortunately the pipe, which normally carries scalding water, was only filled with cold water when it exploded.
Officials said they have been carrying out tests, which is why the water had not been heated.
Immediately after the explosion, the muddy water from the pipeline can be seen flooding the street as another woman stands by watching the destruction in dismay.
Council workers responsible for the communal pipeline say the burst happened on a section of the pipeline that had previously not been in use for 37 years.
As a result they came under criticism when it was pointed out that the normal pipeline would only be expected to operate for 25 years before being replaced, and certainly not be put into service again after a 37-year break.
Investigators were called in once the water had been turned off to assess the damage and prepare a report. They are also supervising repair work.
Eyewitness Olexandr Gusev said: ‘The burst pipe created a fountain that was seven stories high.’
Snaps of the aftermath show the force of the explosion with a huge hole in the asphalt that looks like a bomb crater with huge rocks scattered around.
This is a place where no one would want to be, but the problem is that you can never know when a thing like this could happen and if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time you might end up permanently scarred or even dead.
This kind of thing should be regularly checked and if there is the slightest problem it should be fixed right away.
They should also be regularly replaced to make sure that everything is in perfect shape at all times.
This way no one is risking their lives and dying for nothing just because of negligence or lack of proper care and safety measures.
Versions of the video quickly made it to several social media platforms.
