VIDEO: SUV Crashes into Boy on Bike and the Driver Leaves Him to Die!
If there is something that is worse that causing an accident because you weren’t paying attention or was just driving poorly or drunk driving, then that’s doing all or some of the above and then after you hit someone just driving away as if nothing happened. Those that choose to hit and run deserve a much worse punishment for their crime because they didn’t assume responsibility and potentially left someone to die and didn’t care about them the slightest bit.
Unfortunately, there are quite a few people that choose to do this because they are afraid that they will go to jail or to court and pay a lot of money and they do not want to do that. Still, if it’s your fault you should take the punishment without complaining because you deserve it.
According to dailmail.co.uk, an out-of-control driver was caught on a home’s surveillance video hitting a teenage boy on a bicycle and speeding off without stopping on Monday.
Johnny Walsh, 14, was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk in Pasco County, Florida when a gold Ford Expedition struck him after swerving through a nearby yard and bouncing off a parked car.
Walsh is alive and was well enough to point out his injuries from the ordeal, as reported by ABC’s WFTS.
Walsh reacted quickly to being struck by the vehicle, which may have saved his life.
‘It hit the bike, and then I pushed off. Then I hit the floor and I rolled,’ he said.
‘And then the tire was right in front of me. So I had to hurry up and get out of the way.’
Walsh suffered a few injuries, but luckily nothing that seemed too severe.
‘I got a bruise right here. I got this scratch,’ Walsh said Tuesday, holding up his right arm for news camera.
‘I got knots on my hand and this [left] elbow. And then my hip, I got a big knot on it.’
After the SUV hit Walsh, the surveillance footage showed neighbors flooding out of their homes to check on the boy and all the commotion.
‘There were kids everywhere. It was just mad chaos,’ said neighbor Jackie Lilly, who posted the surveillance video to her Facebook page after the incident.
The video also showed a white car racing after the SUV, the driver of which was able to obtain the license plate number of the vehicle used in the hit-and-run.
Because the driver of the white car followed the reckless SUV driver to obtain the license plate number from the vehicle, Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) was able to identify the owner of the vehicle, but not the person who was driving at the time of the crash.
(FHP) released the following information, which was added to Lilly’s Facebook post with the videos of the hit and run:
The vehicle in the video had Florida license plates, number GYCT99. The driver was described as a ‘white male with light brown or blonde hair, 20-30 years of age.’
