Tensions have grown in the last few weeks more than ever before between the land of the free and the hermit kingdom. With all eyes on the one of the most isolated countries in the world, everyone has been raising eyebrows as to what Kim Jong Un will do next. Once again Guam is finding itself in the middle of what could be a disastrous war.
With growing tensions with the United States and North Korea, it seemed as if the situation wore down for a bit, that is until the US and South Korea began their annual military drills, amid disapproval from many nations due to the growing conflict. The North Koreans are strongly condemning it, and have sent a message by launching a missile in which flew over the Northern part of Japan.
On Tuesday, at around 6 A.M. Japan time, 5 P.M. Eastern Time, another missile was launched, this one however going over the nation, causing Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to call it “the most serious and grave threat ever” to the country. The missile launch came after the annual military drills of the South Koreans and Americans. Both, state that the drills are only of defensive nature. However the North Koreans see it as a threat, potentially being an invasion. Several nations condemned the drills.

The missile was the first ever missile launched from Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea. It launched from Sunan Air Base and flew east over Japan, landing in the Pacific ocean approximately 500 miles from Japan. Sirens went off in northern cities, frightening and alerting citizens to take cover as a possible missile was going to hit. Fortunately it did not. Following the missile attack, South Korea responded by holding live fire drills that simulate destroying North Koreans leadership. All bombs landed on target, sending a clear message to North Korea.
With the situation getting worse and worse with every hour of the day, Guam is now finding itself in the crosshairs of two nuclear nations once again. The launch over Japan was more of a prelude to the military operations in Guam. Guam homeland security adviser George Charfauros stated that the threat level to the nation has not changed, and that this is nothing new due to the annual drills and tensions escalating each time.
