Donald Trump’s approval rating worst than any president since 1945
President Donald Trump is approaching his 100th day in the White House, but the Republican’s rating approval hit historic lows. The latest polls shows that Trump has the lowest approval rating of any President since 1945.
At the 100th day mark, former President Barack Obama had a 69% approval rate, exactly the same as the average approval rating for past Presidents at this stage in their first term.
The poll conducted between 17 and 20 April on over a thousand adults found that 96% the Trump voters who voted for him would maintain their decision, despite the record-law ratings.
The poll showed that six in ten people surveyed doubt Trump’s honesty and trustworthiness, see him out of touch with their problems, while more than half of the Americans (56%) think the president did not achieve sufficiently in his first 100 days.
Although Trump’s low rating at 100 days is significant, it is not necessarily predictive of his ratings for the rest of his time in office or whether he will win a second term.
Some of the key issues that explain the low rate of approval are connected with the manner in which Donald Trump handled the Obamacare reform.
In addition, only 34 per cent approve of his daughter, Ivanka Trump, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, having senior roles within the administration.
The survey, which has a margin of error of 3.5 points, comes after a Gallup poll found that Trump’s approval ratings dropped to an all-time low of 35 per cent in late March.
