Elon Musk says LA mayor is open to his idea regarding a tunnel network in the city
Elon Musk has recently tweeted that he had encouraging conversations with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti regarding a tunnel project that would help with the city’s traffic, Inhabitat.com reports.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO has started up another company around six months ago called The Boring Company, which focuses on infrastructure and tunnels. It seems that he has had encouraging conversations with Eric Garcetti, mayor of Los Angeles, regarding a network of tunnels that would help with the city’s traffic, and he tweeted that Garcetti is open to the idea.

According to Musk, the project would be destined not only to cars, but pedestrians and bikes might also use it with the help of Hyperloop pods.
In an interview for a local channel, Garcetti mentioned his interest in the tunneling technology “that people like Elon Musk [are] looking at” so that the city might benefit from a fast and efficient route from Los Angeles International Airport to Los Angeles Union Station.
The Boring Company‘s goal is fixing one of the city’s major problems, the “soul-destroying traffic”, with a large tunnel network.
