European country has world’s best beaches. Can you guess which one is it?

Spain has just been named as the country with the best beaches in the world, as a result of having the most Blue Flag beaches in the world for the 30th consecutive year.

Spain has 684 Blue Flag awards that included 579 beaches, 100 marina resorts and 5 sustainable tourism boat operatos.

The Blue Flag accolade is given to the beaches that have first-rate water quality, excellent life-saving services, as well as available information about the nature of the beach and good accessibility.

“The prestigious accolade is awarded for more than just naturally beauty – it also takes into consideration water quality, accessibility and sustainability. The Blue Flag awards are a great indicator of how the coastal towns and regions of Spain are committed to preserving the 8,000 km of coastline,” said Jannich Petersen, CEO of Spain-Holiday.com.

The country offers a wide variety of beaches, such as the wide city beaches from the Valencia region (Malvarrosa, for instance), El Saler and its dunes, the white pebble beach of Montcofa or even Orellana Beach, located on the banks of a reservoir in the landlocked region of Extremadura
