“Brexit charm offensive”? Where Prince George and Princess Charlotte go on vacation
Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton announced their plans to spend a part of their summer vacation visiting Poland and Germany. And they will travel with their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. This trip is seen also as a “Brexit charm offensive.”
The first stop on their itinerary will be Warsaw, Poland, on July 17, as the family plans to visit Gdansk and meet with Beata Szydlo, the Polish Prime Minister, as well as visit the site of the Auschwitz concentration camp.
Then, the royals will go to Germany, where they want to see Berlin, Heidelberg, and Hamburg before returning to London on July 21.
For the Duchess of Cambridge it will be the first official visit to Germany. Also, for the couple it will be the first tour of Poland on behalf of the government.
For Princess Charlotte and Prince George, the trip will be the second overseas.
“They have decided that their children, Prince George, 3, and Princess Charlotte, 2, will travel with them and we expect the children to be seen on at least a couple of occasions over the course of the week,” the palace said in a statement, cited by Travel and Leisure.
“(The Cambridges) look forward to a busy and impactful tour and are grateful that they will have the opportunity to meet the Polish and German people – such important friends of the United Kingdom – as a family,” the palace statement added.
