The Destroyer emerges victorious in fatal five way

Raw’s exclusive Extreme Rules event was relatively solid. Samoa Joe shockingly won the fatal five way to become #1 contender for Lesnar’s Universal Championship.

Even though “extreme rules” weren’t much of a factor, the main event delivered

WWE got away with the logical fallacy of labeling this match as “extreme rules” with the fact that all five men put one hell of a show. The key here was the balance of brute strength from Samoa Joe, Bray Wyatt, and Roman Reigns; mixed in with the agile athleticism of Finn Balor and Seth Rollins.

Everyone looked primed to face Brock Lesnar
No matter who would have won the match, each superstar showed why they are all credible threats to Brock Lesnar. Come on, not a single competitor held an absolute advantage over the others. It left you wondering, “Can he actually beat Lesnar?”. You probably asked yourself that question, even more, when Balor mounted a lot of offense.

Rollins’ and Balor’s size doesn’t matter
Technically, both men are cruiserweights (especially Balor). That didn’t stop them from taking on the bigger men. If they ever confront the “Beast Incarnate” one-on-one, the tools are there to take him down.

Wyatt preyed on everyone
At the moments when Wyatt got in contact with anyone, anything had to be done to take the “Eater of Worlds” out of the equation. For him, it was a matter of picking his spot and taking a chance with anyone that got in his way. The main targets were Joe and Reigns. His efforts nearly paid off, but whoever wasn’t Wyatt’s main target was able to stop him.

Samoa Joe can be the beast slayer.

Joe doesn’t have to look like a genetic freak to know that he will give Lesnar a run for his money. Reigns’ best efforts weren’t enough to take down his fellow Samoan. When Joe started to look for the ‘Coquina Clutch’, the goal became to take him down. Joe’s attempts at locking in his hold indicated that was going to be the only way for him to win. Well, he succeeded after a failed to Coup de Grace by Balor. Once the clutch was locked, Balor was trapped and choked out to give Joe the win.
