Mo Farah to bow out of track events

Mo’s upcoming last appearance on track at Grand Prix

Four time Olympic Champion Mo Farah has let it be known that he will be competing in his last track event on August 20th at the Diamond League in Birmingham. Farah had previously stated before that he would concentrate more on competing in road races and marathons after the end of last summers World Championships. But he has since decided to race at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium this August.

Farah won double Olympic Gold medals at the London 2012 Games in both the 5000 and 10,000 metre events and then would go on to retain both titles by winning double Olympic Gold four years later in the same events at the Rio Games in 2016.

He is attempting to win double gold yet again at this years World Championships which will be his swansong.

The thirty-four year old said that he was looking to put in a good last performance as a way of thanking the fans and also that it will be a day long remembered by himself.
