Lack of signings at Barnet?

Will Barnet yet again have to rely on last season’s League Two top scorer Akinde?

Following what many Barnet supporters will remember as one of disappointment, especially with their much travelled twenty-seven-year-old striker John Akinde finishing the season as League Two’s leading scorer with twenty-six goals.

Manager Rossi Eames has spoken regarding a number of possible signings, but as of yet just the one signing of Craig Ross signing from Macclesfield Town.

Goalkeeper Ross started his career with Hampton and Richmond before moving to Cambridge United, where he made fifteen first team appearances, recording four clean sheets within that period. In 2013 he moved to Eastbourne before again moving on to Whitehawk.

At the beginning of 2016-17 Ross signed for National League side Macclesfield with whom he made twenty-five first team appearances. He will be competing for the first team slot with number one choice Jamie Stephens and Guyanese International, Kai McKenzie-Lyle.

With a lack of signings so far and despite such talent as Jamal Campbell-Ryce and Jean-Louis Akpa-Akpro, one cannot see the Bees Improving on last season’s showing.
