Manny Pacquiao got robbed in his latest fight

The Manny Pacquiao-Jeff Horn fight just reiterated to fans why the sport of boxing is dying. The unanimous decision just proved that boxing is by far the most fixed sport in history.

Manny Pacquiao was the heavy favorite coming into this fight against Jeff Horn and rightfully so. He is a legend in the sport with 59 wins and 38 knockouts, cementing himself as one of the greats in recent boxing history. He is a seasoned veteran and a well respected figure in the boxing community.

With that being said last night’s fight was an outrageous display of disrespect towards Pacquiao. Nobody knows if the home judges rigged the fight in the name of Australia or if they just got too much sun in their eyes the whole fight in that unorthodox outdoor boxing ring, but either way those judges completely botched the results of that fight. Horn was using whether it was unintentional or not kept throwing head-butts, elbows and forearms to Pacquiao’s head for the majority of the fight which was the only way that he was able to make his opponent bleed. Now Horn may have lasted all 12 rounds with Pacquiao which is admirable to say the least, an underdog who no one has ever heard of holding his own against one of the greatest boxers of the 21st century is an interesting story for sure.

The problem with this story though is the fact that Horn is a man who is three inches taller than his opponent and kept using dirty tactics to get his way in the fight. He had a top heavy approach when taking on Pacquiao, leaning in with his head when he punches which made the Filipino’s head bleed heavily on both sides when their heads collided. Horn even used his size to put Pacquiao in a head lock numerous times which made the fight even more absurd. Pacquiao on the other hand landed more punches than Horn with a better percentage of landing the punches he threw with Pacquiao landing 32% of his punches and Horn landing only 15%. The scorecards from ESPN and the ringside analyst even favored Pacquiao as the winner of the fight. The fact that the judges called Horn the unanimous winner of the fight is what is even more disgusting. Anyone with 2 eyes, boxing fan or not, could tell that Pacquiao was the superior boxer that night. Thank god this was a free fight to watch.
