LeBron James recently took to Twitter to criticize President Donald Trump

NBA superstar LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers ridiculed United States President Donald Trump’s reaction to the protest that occurred over the weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia. The four-time NBA MVP LeBron James dropped a tweet on Tuesday, saying President Trump has “made hate fashionable again”.

Beginning last Friday and dragging over into Saturday, the protest started with a “Unite the Right” rally led by white nationalists. It has been reported by several major news sources that 19 people were injured and one woman died as a result of a man driving into a crowd of counter-protestors.

People have been openly critical of President Trump for his failure to call out and condemn white nationalists after the protests came to an end on Saturday. United States President Donald Trump addressed the incident in a public statement Monday.

“Racism is evil—and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans,” President Trump said, via CNN.com’s Dan Merica. “Those who spread violence in the name of bigotry strike at the very core of America.” The president then decided to add to this statement on Tuesday by saying “You got a lot of bad people in the other group, too,” implicating the counter-protestors.

Former NBA MVP and superstar Steve Nash joined Lebron James by tweeting some harsh words of his own on Tuesday. Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James added more of his thoughts in a tweet that followed, saying “our youth deserves better”.
