Why work hard just to barely make ends meet? Consider moving to one of these states.

We all know that the price of living is rather expensive in most areas. A lot of individuals are leaving their home state in order to live more comfortably. When people think of their ideal home, many factors come to minds such as a number of bedrooms, schools in the area, nightlife and economy. But these factors come with a price. If you are looking for a cheaper state for you and your family, look no further than these following states.

Georgia: With a cost of living index lower than a lot of other states, life in Georgia will be rather lavish. Transportation costs will also play nice with your wallets, at least compared to the national average. They’re about 6.7% lower than average. Housing prices differ in certain cities, but the median price statewide is about $200,000.

Nebraska: Have you ever felt like people from the Midwest are always so jolly? Maybe it’s because of all that money they’re saving. They have higher averages in health and groceries than some other low-cost states, but they’re equally matched with lower scores where it counts: housing and utilities. Median home prices are valued at only $176,950 which is significantly lower than states in New England such as Connecticut and New York.

Kentucky: Chances are you will pay less for your cart of groceries while living in Kentucky. Food costs are about 11% lower in the Bluegrass State compared to national averages. The median home value in Kentucky is around $131,300. Renting a home will cost around $1,000. In New York, there are apartments that cost way more than that.

Texas: The Lone Star state is one very affordable state. The median home value is $163,100. The average price is $1,450 per month. Not to mention, Texas is home to some great schools as well.

Mississippi: If you really want to save some serious money come to Mississippi. Mississippi is in the top five when it comes to the cheapest states in America. Living in Mississippi costs around 14% less overall than what it costs to live in the United States on average. Mississippi residents are paying over 30% less for their homes than the average home buyer in the U.S. Median home values in the state are just $112,000. Mississippi also has low gas prices and is home to some cheap hotels as well.
