The Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino turned out to be a hit on Instagram, with the colourful drink appearing in countless photographs on the social network. But how much sugar does it actually contain?
The Unicorn Frappuccino is described by Starbucks in nothing short of spectacular words: “Magical flavours start off sweet and fruity transforming to pleasantly sour. Swirl it to reveal a colour-changing spectacle of purple and pink. It’s finished with whipped cream-sprinkled pink and blue fairy powders.”
Despite their fairy-tale aspect, though, the drinks have huge amounts of sugar. The “grande” cup, with whole milk and whipped cream, contains 59 grams of sugar, or the equivalent of 14,77 teaspoons of sugar.

The venti size, even larger, has 76 grams of sugar – the equivalent of 19 teaspoons.
According to Foodbeast, one venti-sized cup of the Unicorn Frappuccino has more sugar than seven Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
