Writing in the Sky: June 4 to June 10, 2017
We can only hope for a great week but with this weekly series of astrological forecasts, you can be armed with the knowledge to actually make that great week happen.
This week in the stars, the Sun will form aspects with many planets, most of which aren’t necessarily favorable. However, I don’t like to think of aspects as good or bad because all are crucial to our development. This week’s forecast will help you be prepared to use these energies constructively.
Sun trine Jupiter (Gemini and Libra): When the Sun and Jupiter gets together, it’s a time of expansiveness. On their own, they each have huge personalities but this week when they form a favorable aspect, take advantage of greater optimism and hope which will undoubtedly attract more good things. Jupiter is a planet of luck so this expansive transit can bring new opportunities in finance, education, travel and social interactions. This aspect will make it easier to deal with the other Sun aspects that are less…optimistic.
Sun square Neptune (Gemini and Pisces): This is considered an unfavorable aspect but its energy isn’t harsh. Neptune is a dreamy and illusory planet and is right at home in the dreamy sign Pisces, the sign Neptune rules. Expect to mindlessly float from activity to activity with no strong urge pushing you one way or another. Also, because the Sun is in Gemini, a sign of communication, this transit can cause misunderstandings and confusion. Think of the transit as a mild Mercury Retrograde. Neptune will make people more sensitive so if we aren’t careful, misunderstandings can blow up into huge altercations.
Sun inconjunct Pluto (Gemini and Capricorn): With Pluto in Capricorn, a sign of career, expect to see this energy in your workplace. Maybe there’s a struggle of power happening or you’re not feeling appreciated when you know your intentions are good. Pluto is a sign of our shadow side which makes sense since Pluto is on the outskirts of our solar system and doesn’t see much light. However, the Sun sheds light on these shady areas in this aspect. Rather than react, use this energy to see WHY you’re responding to the energy in the way you are. The energy in the workplace will be temporary but self-discovery lasts forever.
Venus sextile Mars (Taurus and Cancer): Venus is at home in one of the signs that it rules, Taurus. Mars, a fiery planet, may appear to be out of sorts in watery Cancer but it actually works. Cancer is an assertive, kind of fiery sign in itself so the energy is definitely a passionate one. Put these two planets together in this aspect and you can expect to see some new spice in relationships, whether you are currently in one or about to be. This is definitely a sexy transit. For artists, your work will benefit in beauty but also in depth and boldness.
Crystal Healing for this Week:
Carnelian is the healing crystal this week as it helps with not only the Sun aspects (back in the day, Carnelian was nicknamed “the Setting Sun”) but also the Venus-Mars aspect. I was almost tempted to go with Citrine and if that’s what you have, then, by all means, go for it. The yellow crystal is great for the solar plexus, a chakra much like the Sun. But I felt that Citrine didn’t contribute much to the Venus-Mars sextile.
However, Carnelian is helpful for ALL of the aspects listed above. For the Venus-Mars aspect, Carnelian delivers on creativity and sexual vitality. Carnelian is great for confidence and motivation, which will help in that Sun-Neptune aspect. Carnelian also matches the color of Jupiter which is no coincidence since Carnelian dissipates negative energies and encourages joy.
As for the Sun-Pluto inconjunction, Carnelian improves leadership abilities and deflects pressures from co-workers. Carry Carnelian in the pants pocket for greatest use of the crystal’s energy and enjoy another emotionally balanced week!
