You should use rose infused beauty products – Here’s why
Roses have long been recognised for their extraordinary anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, so it’s not surprising that many brands use them in their products.
The flower is used in skincare in many ways, with rose oil being one of the most popular. It is valued for its array of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, being able to quench dry skin and offering astringent properties that help battle acne, redness and inflammation, according to the Independent.
Some products contain rosehip seed oil – an oil derived from the small fruits sitting behind the rose flower. It has antiageing and antioxidant vitamins A, C, D and E, which help with minimising the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Rosewater – the by-products from the creation of rose oil – has good benefits to the skin. Having antibacterial properties, it is mostly found in facial mists and toners that reduce the skin’s PH.
Roses also provide a classic fragrance. It has been shown that their smell offer soothing and mood-lifting effects. Furthermore, it helps reduce blood pressure and levels of the stress hormone cortisol.
