Social Media and Mobile Technology have transformed the world of dating, websites and applications like OKCupid, Meetup, eHarmony, Match.com and Tinder are being used by people of all ages to find the perfect mate. Almost anyone, anywhere, can log on, post a profile, find your profile, and contact you.

Searching for a partner can be difficult, even with digital assistance. But if finding a mate is important to you, don’t give up just because you’ve hit a few roadblocks. There are millions of people online to choose from.

2. Do it from home or from your phone 

You can check out profiles anytime from anywhere.

3. Cost effective

Going on a date with someone and realising you are not a good match can be cost effective if you match up with someone who shares your likes and dislikes and this comes easy with checking out profiles on the dating sites.

4. Closing the age gap 

The Pew Research Center survey shows that today 12% of 55- to 64-year-olds report use an online dating site or mobile dating app versus only 6% in 2013. This means you don’t have to step outside your comfort zone or just give up on love even when your hair starts to gray.

5. Seriousness of relationships 

Online dating has a reputation of being a casual fun time or a short term relationship but this seems to change in 2017. Studies show that more than a third of couples who found each other online ended up getting married in the last five years, with that number growing. Additionally, online marriages last longer – with 7.6% of offline relationships ending in a breakup, compared to the 6% of online dating.

Fear of letting out your sexual orientation might not be a problem anymore, just set up an online profile and break the ice with someone of your orientation.

As it is in real life, there is a group of scammers who are just looking to get a person fall for the, playing around with their emotions. There are other sexual predators looking for vulnerable women (or men) to assault sexually. Still others may request of you an impulsively sexted photo, only to later use it against you.
